Consumers are being urged to check their pantries after a popular potato chip product was recalled over an undeclared allergen.
Saratoga Potato Chips LLC has announced a voluntary recall of certain packages of J. HIGGS Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Chips because the product may contain soy that is not declared on the label.
Which chips are affected?
The recall applies to 7.75-ounce bags of J. HIGGS Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Chips with UPC code:
0-51933-31645-4
Consumers should specifically check bags marked with either of these “Best If Used By” dates:
- DEC 11 26
- DEC 18 26
The date code can be found near the top right corner of the bag.
Where were the recalled chips sold?
The affected products were distributed through Save A Lot stores in several states, including:
- Indiana
- Kentucky
- Maryland
- Ohio
- Tennessee
If you recently purchased this flavor from a Save A Lot location in one of these states, it is worth checking the packaging before eating it.
Why were they recalled?
The recall was issued because the chips may contain undeclared soy.
